The launch of the #IChooseBoard

What an incredible day we had at Down Syndrome Cheshire we launched our #IChooseBoard. A board led by members with #Downsyndrome to ensure their voices are heard on a local and national stage. Learners from The Petty Pool Trust joined us to share their views.

We were also lucky enough to have guest speakers from the National Down Syndrome Policy Group; we had Fionn, Jonathan Angus, and Ed Daly as Chair and facilitator on the National Advisory Board. They spoke about their work with Parliament to shape the #DownSyndromeAct

We are delighted about how many members showed an interest in being part of our #IChooseBoard. We are looking forward to our next meeting. If you are interested in joining then please get in contact with Lucy by emailing her at lucym@dscheshire.org.uk

"Darcey is going to walk for 21 minutes for 3 weeks in October to support DS Cheshire as her challenge for Down Syndrome awareness month! Darcey isn’t one for walks, she loves coming in from school and chilling out doing creative stuff, so this may not sound a task to some, but for Darcey this is a physical and mental challenge. Please support her on this personal challenge which I know she will smash and all in a great cause."
