This course takes a closer look at the learning needs of children with Down syndrome. We’ll explore some of the common challenges they may face, as well as their relative strengths. We will explore how those strengths can help support areas where they might need extra help. The session will include practical demonstrations, and you’ll learn about strategies and resources you can use right away. Topics will include ways to promote positive behaviour, enhance communication skills, support numeracy, and understanding additional task demands. By the end of the course, you’ll have useful tools and ideas to help you create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for children with Down syndrome.

Feedback from the course 100% of delegates attending said they felt more confident in supporting a child with DS following the training.

"Darcey is going to walk for 21 minutes for 3 weeks in October to support DS Cheshire as her challenge for Down Syndrome awareness month! Darcey isn’t one for walks, she loves coming in from school and chilling out doing creative stuff, so this may not sound a task to some, but for Darcey this is a physical and mental challenge. Please support her on this personal challenge which I know she will smash and all in a great cause."
