Story 1

Our daughter is home-educated. She attended mainstream school until the end of Year 8, but we decided to homeschool so we could better tailor her education. As a family, we also love to travel, so homeschooling gave us more time and opportunity to do this. Jasmine has travelled around Southeast Asia, Costa Rica, Slovenia, Albania, and many other countries. She is currently in Sri Lanka.

Our daughter has a sister age 12 and a brother age 11 and they get on so well. They are all very close and love to spend time together. She loves to make up dances with her sister and play rugby and cricket with her brother.

She loves to write stories and is very good at Spanish. Her favourite pastime is gymnastics.

Our daughter competes in an integrated team (half mainstream, half disability) and has so far won three British gold medals. She trains for 10 hours every week and also volunteers as a gym coach at her club.

"Darcey is going to walk for 21 minutes for 3 weeks in October to support DS Cheshire as her challenge for Down Syndrome awareness month! Darcey isn’t one for walks, she loves coming in from school and chilling out doing creative stuff, so this may not sound a task to some, but for Darcey this is a physical and mental challenge. Please support her on this personal challenge which I know she will smash and all in a great cause."
